i ate it? i have not heard that slang used since like 1995 lol...
-
cake! cake! cake! ... falls. HAHAHAHAH
-
@Koollaidman1546 It's kind of a dead phrase. When people use it now they usually say "I ate shit" lol
-
note to Ayaka--- never teach non-English speakers English slang before teaching them the actual dictionary-defined word. Slangs don't stay very long, like "I Ate it" and I'm pretty sure if Mari had to use that later in life to those who hardly heard it, it would not make any sense whatsoever XD

'I ate it' is like 90 s kid slang... Not really used anymore but still... I guess useful. Though just saying 'I fell' would have been more affective
-
In Poland, for example in such circumstances we use the word "o, kurwa!", sometimes with the addition of "mać". In English it would be rather something like "holy shit!" Absolutely nothing connected to eating...
-
@dumbie12 I believe it was skateboarding slang at one point. God knows how it got to Japan though!

What?! I've been saying the wrong thing my whole life! Next time i fall over, imma yell out, I ATE IT
-
@Koollaidman1546 Maybe "I bit it?" Like "biting the dust?" Or I ate pavement? I've heard that one: "I ate the pavement!"?
-
@Koollaidman1546 Yea me neither, if ever somebody would say that i would go like "what did you eat?"
I get it... but "I ate it" = falling over?
I have never, ever heard that used.
