Easy Revit video tutorials for beginners like me: Walks through an entire simple project, step by step. More to come. This Video: Create a new family from scratch, and apply your own parameters to it. The basics are covered in this video by creating a simple generic 3-d box, and creating parameters for its width, height, and depth.

  • @kirtokosseamrica That vid is coming up next weekend!

  • Thanks for the Video mate, it was a great help, i appreciate you taking the time to make this.

Is there a video for assigning materials to the family, or is this a really easy thing to do. i will try and figure it out myself but any tips would be most appreciated, cheers.

  • hey metal, first create a parameter and name it "material" and then when defining the type of parameter from the pull down menu, choose its type as material. next go to the element and right click on it. there you will see a "material" parameter, all the way to the right you will see a little box. by clicking that box you will be able to link its material with the new material parameter you just created. good luck!

  • WOW thank you so much! Ive been struggling so long to find a certain family that can meet my needs but now I can make one myself!!
