Phuket carries out tough precaution measures against the A H1N1 virus both at airports and seaports. There are not only surveillance measures at Phuket International Airport where thermo scanners are in place to detect any passengers with flu symptoms, but passengers of cruise ships, like Super Star Virgo, were also checked and screened for health hazards. Around 2,000 tourists arrived at Phuket Deep Seaport with the Super Star Virgo from Singapore. The provincial Chief Doctor Pongsawas Ratanasang said after the health check up, that one person was found to have a normal flu and the passenger did not come from a country listed by W.H.O. as an epidemic vulnerable zone. The passenger was then asked to stay on board and was well attended by the cruise medic. Other passengers were given advice while enjoying their vacations in Phuket. The cruise ship has now departed Phuket.
