dude where did you get that left hand bait caster?
-
I've had a lot of practice with my baitcaster now so I haven't had a bad backlash for a long time. ButI will definitely remember this one. God, to think I had to re-spool my reel once, and wasted HOURS trying to pick out backlashes in the last two years; nearly lost fish twice when they hit the bait while I was trying to fix the backlash. Yeah, I'm going to remember this, and teach it to my son.

I always play dumb and hand my stuffed reel to my friend and use his while he kindly fixes mine!

for braided I pull until it stops..then rotate the reel 1/2 rotation forward then hold spool with thumb and try to re-pull ...if that don't work throw it in the lake. Time is money.

@davidnieuwland Yeah... braided line is gonna be almost impossible to clear this way.

If I get to the point to where im about to either cut my line or throw the whole reel in the water I will give this a shot first. Thanks.

Wow! Thanks for sharing the thumb trick! :-D

Just be careful not to damage the line. This is effective, but it is very abrasive.
Like if this video cost you a whole spool of string
