@bedacoals I went to one of his seminars in Oswego like three years ago. Mike Stern and Gene Bertoncini also had seminars. SAdly no concert then by Mr. Stowell, but Mike played and was amazing. All also very nice down to earth guys BTW. Criminal that a talent as large as Stowell isn't a household name. Musicians in the know know this already though.
OMG i took a lesson with John Stowell yesterday.. It was amazing! I have to say this man has open a whole new world of possibilities on my playing. He has definitely taken me out of the box
First came across John Stowell in the '89 GP issue "Unknown Greats!" Sure glad I looked into his videos tonite-I hear some of the musical values of Jim Hall and Lenny Breau-wonderful playing and concept.
I love the blues but how does the four note blues solo video come up as a suggestion on a John Stowell page?....just sayin'.

My last name is Stowell but they pronounce it Stole it's normally pronounced Sto-well =P
