I would go to JoAnne Fabrics and purchase some wooden dowl handles and use them instead of makeing the handles leather like the skirt. That way it would be more durable and less tacky. Great idea though!

its an old leather skirt one of my friends had,was kind of old fashion so I thought on turn it in something I would really use.Thanks for your comment :)

Very cute... although I would only do this if I lived somewhere where either skirts were really cheap or tote bags are really expensive.
