This tiny baby is the only one hatched amongst the 7 eggs. We let the mama bird feed the baby until the chick is all grown up, without removing the baby for hand feeding. Bits of fresh leaves are placed in the cage everyday, and the mama bird would pick the ones she likes and carry them to the nest. Papa bird does not help with stuffing the nest, but is always busy stuffing his belly. He regurgitates and feeds the mama bird.

  • Awww. This is cute. Makes me want a lovebird. Are they difficult to care for?

  • @jadaskylar They are easy to take care of. But if you have more than one lovebird, be very careful as they are very territorial and can harm each other in fighting for mate or space, and when they dislike each other. When there is a pair of lovebirds (male with female), the loving way of how they interact is the most adorable!

  • sorry for the spelling errors lol, I meant to write, are they more shy/timid with you? anyways, this video is really adorable, good luck and health to the newbies! :)

  • This baby is very shy. Even with all the feathers grown, it is still very attached to its parents and refuses to come out of the bird house, depending on the mom to feed it. Now the baby is fully weaned and lives with other 5 free roaming love birds. The baby is now gradually becoming more social with the rest and does not fly away when we approach it. Very cute baby bird though :-)

  • @jadaskylar my love bird is evil! it killed it's cage mate while i was at my friend's house and it yells at anyone who goes near his cage D:

  • That is so cute!!!!!

  • wow, amazing chick! it looks so fragile...amazing to see the mama feeding the baby. great video! will there be more eggs hatching?

  • OH! Wow! This is so wonderful to see! Awesome video! Since you do not remove the baby from the mom for socializing and hand-feeding (which is great) how are the babies socialized with you? IAre the more shy? Is it more difficult to tame them or do you find they are just as sweet as babies that are pulled early for hand-feeding??? Great birds! I love the parents! :)
