  • Wow is this rare... a radio show version of a song from the movie and so clear and clean as well for the era. Someone said that's Robert Young introducing but it doesn't sound like him.

  • @55kudu It is in fact Robert Young. He was the MC at the time. I have the entire episode uploaded on my OTRNut channel. Check it out and enjoy!

  • @nickynoodles33 you sound like my kind of lady. lol, we have the same kind of humor

  • Not to be a naysayer, but I don't think Judy Garland was anywhere near this radio production OR she certainly didn't sing if she was there. To my ear this is clearly a clip from the soundtrack with perhaps live studio singers filling in. Just my opinion, don't need any flack arguing otherwise. Save it for a rainy day. Acknowledge and move on.

  • @GoldenEraDame I love the picture of the great and wonderful Judy Garland on your background. She is so beautiful there, The Mickey Rooney picture is adorable and all your posts are very enjoyable. "The Pirate" is one of my favorites, Mack the Black is so incredible, I really feel it's one of her best recorded performances. Thrilling from the moment it starts. Thank you for all you give us and for introducing yourself to me with your kind knowledge. Lucille Ball was a blessing to this Earth!!

  • @GoldenEraDame Thank you for clarifying that for me. It must have been when he was "younger" LOL and before I was acquainted with him on "Father Knows Best" in the 1950s, although I know that he appeared in many motion pictures before his TV work. I love your page so chock full of goodies and old-time entertainment. There is nothing like old Hollywood and entertainment from the past. Thank God for the internet which is preserving so much and allowing us to revisit these precious gems.
