The only thing that matters in weighing the fruit that they bare is the message in their lyrics. If I write a song about my x-grilfriend because I was emotionally driven to do so, then that is just that. The fact that I wrote that song, was in the glory of God because I utilized my talent and did not waste it. As a christian, however, I would not preach or send a message contrary to the teachings of Christ. I write songs all the time that make me worship God! God gave me the groove!

how do you know I dont follow the bible? You mean there is little wisdom on part of Jesus? How dare you.. I was basing what I said off of the fruits of the spirit. Accepting Christ resurrected from the dead, and baring the fruits of the spirit is what proves someone who has Yeshua. You need to do more research, because you are not in a state to judge or condemn.. Everything I said makes sense.. you spelled sense wrong.

Mike i agree with you 100%. Steelerfan wears blinders and likes to play God and point out what he/she thinks is wrong with peoples walk with Christ. I didn't take the non-musician route, but i agree with you. i think if God gave you talent and you use it to benefit his kingdom then you are giving him praise. For instance Tim Tebow, the way he plays football is in a way praise to God because God gave him talent and he uses it to witness to a multitude of people. Mat 7:3

actually, all of you are kind of taking this non-musician approach to understanding what is going on here. Music, to a musician, is a way to express whatever it is you are feeling or going through. Just because you did not write a worship song does not mean that you are going against the bible. Forgive me if I am misunderstanding your take. You have to remember that just because a christian does not write a song about Jesus, does not mean really anything other then they felt like writing a song.

ok so your telling me... you will sing grits lyrics when you have a brian tumor or ur very ill in a hospital or when someone close to you that you love is in a hospital bed your next to them and they are crying cause they dont want to die you will sing grits lyrics beacuse it Godly worship music? please get help sorry to break it to you so hard but please ...let be real here

I'm sorry that you're so closed minded that you can't see that music like this is Christian music and that Christians can sing catchy tunes that don't have to be "praise and worship" music. I'm not going to run in circles with you anymore because your facts are hollow and you refuse to take the blindfold off and see other points of view with an open mind.
