im my opinion i think the benefits of having having snakes is the same as having a dog or cat. snakes also can be loving, caring and as weird as it sounds cuddler's, yes i said cuddler's my boa and bp like it curl up by my neck or the bend of my arm. and will even sit and watch tv with me. and like you said there very low maintance so if you go on vaca you dont have to get someone over everyday to feed them or take them out

@halolis Overall, it's probably less dangerous than having a dog.

hey mack1time or anyone who sees this, i think i want a snake but im not sure, i think i could handle feeding frozen mice but i couldn't do rats because my dad used to own rats and i like em more than mice, but how do i convence them to even consider a pet snake? besides the whole "im resposible blah blah blah" i am its just that thats not the problem its what they eat, my parents both LOVE rats and mice. but how do i know if i want a snake? i think i do but again im not sure if ill like them
