Another small tune on this homemade lap steel guitar: an attempt to Indian music, though I know almost nothing about it. I tried to emulate a kind of sitar sound.

  • Very good Job!! Nice sound and playing!

How tune you use in this video?

    Thanks and regards from Brasil!

  • Thanks!

The guitar is tuned in Open D: DADF#AD

  • nice instrument - and great playing too ( your other vids )

this "Raag" sounds kind of off though .

have you ever seen videos of "kamala shankar" or " vishwa mohan bhatt " on youtube ? they play Raag on modified Slide Guitars. you might like it

    cheers

  • You're quite right. It's obvious I'm not a raga player. It's a music I know as a listener. I do have a respectable CD collection. But I have never study the style the way it deserves.

This is just a kind of little 'homage' to Indian music. Nothing serious! :-)

    Thanks for commenting!

  • Very Different, has that Indo sound along with a Metallic ringing?resonator/dobro sound.

    I want to build one!!!

  • Eres un crack, Deferre, un abrazo amigo!

  • Thanks!

I guess the box can be bigger, depending on how strong it is. The cover shouldn't get deformed while tuning up the strings. It would make it unstable. That's why I chose this tin box from Delacre: they're tougher that other brands I saw at the supermarket.

    Cheers!!!

  • Hello! I quite like the sound this biscuit box slider is making, and may have to look up your how to blog----it is very nice--can the body be even bigger? I have a three string cig box guit, but it is too small, I really like 6 strings! thanks for posting and sharing. Sincerely, Laurie
