Resident evil is more geared towards science fiction and silent hill is very psychological based. Both really good series but as far as survival horror goes, silent hill takes it. No contest.

Resident evil is just fun to play silent hill is scary and keep you hooked onto a good storyline. resident evil is kids game when it comes to horror.

Resident Evil may have bigger sales and more popularity with gaming fans,but resident evil could never match silent hill in terms of popularity within it's fan base.Silent hill was really scary back in the day.But then again if resident evil never came out silent hill would not even exist.So i praise both games for brining something new to the video game industry.But if i had to choose between the two i would pick Silent hill for being scarier.

Damn, this is a tough choice since they're both good for very different reasons. I also consider Resident Evil 4 and Silent Hill 2 to be the best horror games of all time.

The first 3 resident evil games were zombie(t virus and g virus) then it goes onto shitty uraborse..And Silent hill movie was better then the resident evils movie the last movie that came out ruined it for me
