  • 3:55 I was wondering why I couldn't make the hair system work. Before he selected the follicle he clicked 'Interactive Playback', not play, on his custom shelf. You can find that under the Dynamics Tab, Solver --> Interactive Playback. (Shift click to insert it into shelf.

  • I was having trouble with this, you hit cmd instead of ctrl if your on a mac

  • Thank you soooo much for mentioning that, @soulfinder90. Missing that little detail throws the whole thing off. Much appreciated! :)

  • more.... when I select the hairSystemFollicles I do not recieve a manipulator.

  • This looks like a great tutorial. however, I have not been successful with my chain. I have followed all of the steps and have watched this video numerous times. There is something happening (a click, selection, or something) that is not mentioned or is subtle in the tutorial.

I was getting the same warning when selecting the IK handle. After reading the posts below, I thought my problems may have been this. However, I followed your steps and stillhave not gotten it to work. help?

  • Thank you for this video. This helped a lot :)

  • When moving the rope, how do I make it affect more on one end of the rope? As in, one end swings more than the other.

  • @lbennett5 You have to select the hairSystemFollicles in the outliner and move that one. Not the IKhandle.

  • Whenever I apply the spline IK i get the error

"Warning: Some items cannot be moved in the 3D view"

This is driving me insane please help

    :S

  • Awesome. However, the last bit that you showed with the cube moving all the tubes away, will the tubed intersect with eachother or do they collide with eachother realisticly?
