This is Zahra -- I hijacked her interview of me in a Jakarta square to interview her. I've been in Indonesia for less than a day, but I've noticed an interesting ritual where children run up to foreign tourists and ask them survey questions about Indonesia in English. They record the answers and then take photos with the foreigners. George and Celeste, English teachers here, explained to me that this is part of their homework. I'll be in Indonesia for the next 10 days, visiting American English teachers in three different cities.
