  • Nice clock! The movement in this clock is what I consider one of the REAL Kieninger movements, much long before Howard Miller bought them out. These earlier Kieninger movements IMO have a better sound than the later Howard Miller made Kieninger or any Hermle movements combined. The sound is thicker and more resonant than later Kieninger or Hemle movements. Only Urgos chimes sound as good or better than these.

    Thanks! It's my parents clock they got when I was a kid. I agree that the newer clocks chimes are not as nice sounding by far. They almost sound hollow to me when I listen to them, when compared to older clocks like this. I don't think I'd buy a new gf clock for this reason. My favorite sounding clocks are german 1900-1930's floor clocks w/ bim bam strike on the hour. Now those have some thick resonating chimes. That will be my next treat for myself.
