Now i'm english so don't give me crap about being a yank bastard. But we did not stand alone throughout the battle of britain, nearly a third of all pilots who alongside the RAF were NOT British. Nearly a quarter were american and quite a few of the piolets who died fighting for britain were french and australian. America often gets accused of changing history, but we brits are prone to just ignoring it.

Blackgati completely agree with you let's not forget any of the men who served through history and the sacrifices they made

Rember seeing Supermarine Spitfire TD248 Outside RAF Sealand as a kid

Oh bugger, I missed this, and I used to live near Eastleigh Airport!!! Did they go and do a flypast across Southampton Water after they took off? If so, I saw them (along with 3/4 of Southampton!) down at mayflower Park. Very stirring stuff, and everyone there quietly clapped in respect as they went by. Very moving.

Go and fly Supermarine Spitfirein one of the best fighters of WWII. It turned the tide against the Luftwaffe, saved Britian from possible Nazi occupation.

The pilot in the rear seat of the two seat Tr.9 Spitfire (the one with "161" on the fuselage) is none other than the legendary Spitfire test pilot Alex Henshaw, the man who has flown more Spits than any other, as he used to do the test flights after a new example came off the production line.

just watching those 5 fly over with the sound turned up, would of been incredible seeing a whole squadron cruising over the countryside. Still the best plane to ever take to the skies in my view.
we stood alone in 1940 but we had the spit and the hurrycanes, and the best pilots in the world
they died for freedom and for you !
NEVER FORGET THEM
