This is a more "in depth" cut of the ONLY Solid Gold '87 show I own. I made it to give a more realistic view of how the show changed and how the focus on the SOLID GOLD DANCERS shifted. To me it shows how the show started down the path to cancellation. I really hated the camera effects (slow motion, blurring, etc) to me it took away from the dancers and their talent.
the really grey look really made everyone blend in making the routines look blurry as well.

This is an interesting episode but the downside is that the sets on the stage look like the same generic "music video" busted up house everyone else was using their videos at the time. (With awful 'faux black & white".) Marilyn still had it and the dancers were still hot but something was amiss at this point.

@lbCharmed1 Maybe Charlie O and Robert W are reminiscing about their SG days.

I've said before and I will say it again. For me, RW Morgan was THE VOICE of Solid Gold. May he rest in peace.

@palmercomm Yeah, but Charlie O was more suited to game shows ("Pyramid" and "Wheel Of Fortune") and "Bandstand" - Robert W. Morgan was a radio DJ, and to me, he will ALWAYS be the most remembered announcer on "Solid Gold!"

I didn't hear much of Charlie O in this clip.

That's because Charlie O'Donnell was also American Bandstand's original announcer; he even served well into the show's move from Philadelphia to Los Angeles.

Interesting, do you have any idea which dancers showed up for this tribute and did they actually dance.....
