alabai=alabay... cao=cas(caucasian ovcharka=shepherd)... alabai is specific turkmenish cao

@mudshovel007 they are the same breed, alabai is just another name for the central asian shepherd(CAO) so there is no diffrence

Why are their ears and tails off?.Very pointless unless they are working dogs.And even then it is not true their tail needs to be docked.

@mudshovel007 I think there are many regional variation within those breeds. For example in Caucasus many dogs with short hair visibly difficult to tell apart from CAO. The same way I've seen quite long haired Turkmenistan alabai reminding CO. IMHO these two are closely related dogs sharing quite possibly a single ancestry.

What is the difference between the Alabai and CAO, etc? CO's have long hair and Alabai's have short?

do they makr good companians? and if socailized from puppyhood will they be good with strangers and other dogs? please reply would really apreciate it =)
