LOL Thanks for the great story!

Bravo! I have long been involved with wonderful young people who, with the best of intentions, have made questionable choices. Your dealing with this is perfect.
I have friends who would like to own a famous work of art that should belong to all of us. I believe they should find a local artist that they love and help support the current generation.
I am a weaver who sympathizes with Mike. I applaud both his return of the work and his suggestion that the DeYoung display it appropriately.

Great story! Had me laughing all the way through.
But, I must say, once he got it past them the third time, they no longer deserved to have it returned.

A great story, from a great raconteur. I think you must have been a wonderful teacher. The best teachers always have wonderful stories to pass on, and far from being superfluous, they are a important part of what one learns. Now I work in the business world where my peers have studied business or computer science, etc. They seem rarely to have had teachers who had any stories, or even personalities. It's hard to explain to them what studying music was like -so I rarely try.
