Certain chemicals can create binary compounds, so even though asbestos is non flammable on its own doesn't mean that it can't be mixed with something to make a highly combustible substance. The reason the Predator did this was so it could take the embers and cauterize the wounds, as evidence by the wounds being sealed shut afterwards. It's the same as when a soldier takes gunpowder and puts it on a wound and (s)he ignites it.
@Johnlindsey289 Yeah, i saw both Predator films in theaters as a kid. That shot of King Willy's severed head still screaming was kind of silly. The head didn't look very real to me either. That's a good question about the asbestos. Maybe it has some kind of chemical property in it that promotes healing in his species. The funniest scene for me was when the lady in the apartment hears the Predator screaming in the bathroom and then approaches the door carrying nothing but a flimsy old broom. lol
I agree, did you see this at the movies as a kid too? i did when i was 9 and i had Predator action figures and comics since then. That ending was awesome with the Xenomorph skull in it making it a Fox monster joke, what was it with King Willy's head still screaming? and why would Predator use asbestos to heal his wounds in the blue goo?
