When you think about it, M-O is over 700 years old too. Although he probably isn't as active as WALL-E and stuff, it figures that he'd develop some sort of personality based off his experiences. ...So his experiences tell him that foreign contaminants are just -whoa-. (Repeatedly, even.)

The Axiom was launched 700 years before the movie. Unlike the humans, who reproduce generation to generation, the robots last indefinitely. M-O would have been aboard the ship when it was initially sent on its voyage, and his personality would have had plenty of time to emerge within that period of time.
