  • great tutorial especially for us young ones who have never seen it done like that before. It does look a bit like it would cut off the circulation to the baby's legs though

  • @niamh2739 I've never had that problem at all. The only problem I ever had with prefolds was a rash he got on his upper thighs because I wasn't making sure that the cover was nice and snug up high enough on his thigh. Circulation isn't a problem at all though!

  • I'm sorry, but I'm just not sure what you're saying here.

  • I've never seen it done like that! That makes it so much easier. Thanks for the tutorial.

One thing I'm concerned about with prefolds is is it uncomfortable for the baby?

  • They are pretty bulky on newborns, but once the baby is old enogh to care about the bulk, they have grown in to them. In my opinion they are MUCH more comfortable than plastic and paper!

  • Thanks for making this!! I was so confused as to how to use prefolds, but you just made it so simple for me.

  • I am pregnant with my second child and I am on a tight budget. Thanks so much for posting this! =) I will be using both disposable and cloth diapers.Where did you get your diapers from? Is there a discount store online? Thanks!

  • don't yu think his legs are spread to far apart?? just a question!!

  • thank you so much!! im in a delema right now and my husband is sleeping AND forgot to get diapers last night. you saved my day :) btw congrats your cutest little man!

  • You're supposed to fold the side near his butt first. And you don't use a burp rag folks, you use special fabric that you have to wash and dry in hot water about 5 times.

  • Wouldn't folding on the inside of the diaper create a huge mess when you go to change him? It's like a poopy flower blooming, with poop on the petals folding outward and getting on everything. Plus those outer flaps are all flimsy and would be much harder to rinse than just having to rinse the middle part.

  • Thanks, Very simple! I'm going to try using prefolds a friend gave me today. B's 6 months old, and I ordered some one-size snap-adjustable diapers, and even on the smallest setting, the leg holes are too big and he's peed out through 3 times! :P So. We'll see how the prefolds & covers...cover.

  • Omg he is just so cute moving those little arms and legs :)

  • Very helpful vid, thanks

  • Thank you for your helpful video.

We've been using BumGenius 4.0 pocket diapers, but my newborn has a bit of a rash and my midwife suggested we switch to prefolds without covers for a while to help him heal up. The idea of somehow turning a flat square of cloth into a diaper was intimidating to say the least, especially since we don't have Snappis yet and are using pins.

I haven't quite got the hang of it yet -- there's still a big gap around his thighs when I put his diaper on.
