Latcho Drom (rom for "safe journey") describes the travels, singing and dancing of 'Gypsy' groups from Rajahstan (India), Egypt, Turkey, Romania, Hungary, Slovakia, France, and Spain. Some scenes are acted, but there is no dialogue or narration--only partial translation of some songs. The film illustrates the variety of conditions in which the 'Gypsy' people live--earthbound nomads in the hot deserts of Asia, ironsmiths and abjectly poor tree-dwellers in the frozen plains of Eastern Europe, and craftspeople and traders in the hills and seasides of north Africa and western Europe. It also illustrates the similarities in travel habits, musical tones (spoons, open drums, and string-based rhythms) and song themes (celebration of travel and perceived rejection by sedentary locals).

I was born in Rajasthan, my ancestors have been living in this desert since the time immemorial...Yes Rajasthan is the ancient origin of gypsies and then they spread all over the world, specially Europe...and the story is...Basically these ppl were the soldiers of MAHARANA PRATAP, and they made a promise to live with him forever, when MAHARANA Died fighting the war...these ppl NEVER WENT BACK TO THEIR HOMES. JUST TO KEEP THE PROMISE.....HAIL ANCIENT CULTURE OF THE GREAT INDIA...

I think he definitely grew up to be quite the looker, he may have even been the dancer's brother. Most likely, his angelic voice was taken by the puberty monster. : /

    Je hebt een beetje gelijk

Roma zigeuners zijn afstammelingen van de doma een iraans-indiaas volk die in het noordwesten van india wonen,

Dus Roma zigeuners zijn ook een iraans-indiaas volk
