Video of the No on Prop 8 rally held in Sacramento, CA on Saturday, November 22, 2008. The rally consisted of a number of guest speakers and a march around the State Capital Building. About 5,000 were estimated in attendance by the California Highway Patrol.

Among the guest speakers were the following:

- Margaret Cho
(Comedienne)

- Selene Luna
(Comedienne)

- Gloria Allred
(Head Attorney in Supreme Court Marriage Cases)

- Senator Darrell Steinberg
(President-elect of the CA State Senate)

- Robin Tyler and Diane Olson
(plaintiffs in Supreme Court Marriage Cases and first to be married in CA after the ban was struck down in June)

- John Lewis and Stuart Gaffney
(accomplised Marriage Equality USA Speakers and plaintiffs in Supreme Court Marriage Cases)

- Shannon Minter
(attorney with the National Center For Lesbian Rights)

= Geoff Kors
(Equality California Executive Director)

  • i was there in the front; i saw a glimpse of myself in this video. It was truly amazing for someone like me who'd never found acceptance outside my family to go to a rally of hundreds of people i didnt know and feel as comfortable as i do in my own house. A woman read my sign and hugged me; i had no idea who she was. It was really indescribable. I wish everyone could feel what i felt then at least once in their lives.
