Yerevan's metro is a true blessing on hot summer days. The Soviet built underground transport system is not very large, but it will take you to the key destinations. The metro wasn't very fit for tourists as of recently, as all signs were only in Armenian and Russian. But following renovation works at "Yeritasardakan"metro station, signs could be seen also in Latin latters (English), which is surely a welcome addition for tourists who would have otherwise get lost in it.
I personally met with such a lost French tourist only a month ago. The poor woman had no idea where she was and where to go, so I had to travel with her all the way to "Hanrapetakan" (Republic Square) metro station, so she could find her hotel.
"Zoravar Andranik" metro station, where I arrived while making this video, was not renovated yet, and only bore signs in Armenian and Russian. However, the government has allocated about 400 million drams for renovating all metro stations, putting up new signs in Armenian, Russian and English so change will come to the remaining stations as well.
More importantly, since February 14, 2009, Yerevan's metro redesigned its old payment system and now they have magnetic plastic payment cards.

@sandrokrg Actually, it is a pretty nice and clean metro. Have you been to Paris's or New York's metro?
