Ric Hall has had a ten-year association with the Chicago Black Ensemble (BET) working in both local and road tour productions of Muddy Waters (the Hoochie Coochie Man), The Jackie Wilson Story and The Soul of Black Music among others. Mr. Hall has also proudly served as guitarist and rhythm section leader for the Dells, the legendary R&B band from Harvey, Illinois.
In June 2004 Ric joined another legendary performer's touring band, that of five-time Grammy Award winner, 2005 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Inductee Buddy Guy. Since joining the band Ric has not merely held his own playing along side the man Eric Clapton calls one of the greatest blues guitarists who ever lived, but also garnered fans of his own touring extensively with the group through the US, Europe, Japan, Brazil with a stop in Mumbai India. With the release of Buddy Guy's album Bring 'Em In, the band has also made television appearances on Late Night with Jay Leno, The Craig Ferguson Show, Jimmy Kimmel Live, opened for the Rolling Stones on selected dates of their 2005 US Tour, played Farm Aid, and the Austin City Limits Music Festivals as well as many nationally broadcast radio appearances.
Mr. Hall endorses Chicago Blue Box amplifiers and Dean Markley , Dunlop, Musicman guitars, Ernie ball, Uncle Funky Cables, Spin Straps,Fuzziebro...etc.
the story behind the scenes is awesome. Buddy scouted Ric out a few times at a local club (he knew Buddy's brother) and asked him to join his band. Ric laughed thinking it was a joke at first.

Yes the same happened to me in Vancouver BC Canada on May 9th, 2009. I also love the way Buddy really promotes his band members to do solo's. What a great night and tickets were not costly.

i went to the concert they had in stockholm a few years back, and i was even lucky enough to have a small chat with mr. Hall after the show. he's an amazing guitarist with awesome character! long live Ric Hall!
