Paul's CUPW Song for Lisa Raitt v2.0

FACT: In 2009 Canada Post recorded its highest profit EVER, of $281 million. FACT: Canada Post has made a profit EVERY YEAR, for the past 16 YEARS. But in 2011, Canada Post is forcing its employees to take MAJOR cut-backs; and has now locked-out CUPW employees, and refuses to negotiate. This is all about the threatened extinction of the middle-class... Good jobs, being done by good people, for a decent wage.

Canada Post insists it has to make cuts because "mail volumes are down"? FACT: Mail volumes were LOWER back in 1997, than they are today! And notice how Canada Post DOESN'T say that they have to make cuts because revenues are down, or because they're losing money... Because they're not! FACT: Canada Post is just as viable and profitable today, as it's ever been!

...Though they'd never want you to know that. Our "new economic reality" is one where the rich look out for themselves, pad their own pockets, and keep getting richer... And the people who are actually out there on the streets (making that $281 million for the company) are FORCED to take cuts to their benefits and wages.
