These people don't realize what they're looking at. It's probably a piece of a composite, made of tightly bundled reeds in a 'geopolymer' cement matrix (something like the 'pozzolanic' water-proof cement used by the Romans). Would be ideal for building large ships, as it happens - immensely strong and resiliant.

  • where did they/you found these object? has anyone studied

  • I can't rememeber where I found the vid, or who those guys are, but they're, er, religious types, in Eastern Turkey, i.e. the Anatolian plateau.

    As I said, I'm pretty sure it's a fragment of a composite material - stone-age carbon fibre.

Reed-bundles are still used(Thor Heyerdahl - 'Kon-Tiki'?). In a 'geopolymer' matrix (artificial stone, stone-cement), you'd have a superb material for buildng, say, very large ocean-going ships.

  • Right at the end, when it zooms in on the (presumably) broken end of the fragment, you can see what couls easily be the 'laying up' of the reed-bundles, the same way glass, carbon etc' matt is in modern composites.

  • it's a gopher wood. coated with tar/pitch. Gen 6:14.

  • It can be some floating component for reedship .

  • in galveston bay is remnent of concrete ship - ww2 liberty ship

  • Undoubtedly, the ancients of prehistory held certain forgotten knowledges that hopefully will surface once again in today's modern times, so that we can stop using nonrenewable resources that are practically killing off the human race. This is so fascinating and I want to know more. Based on an educated guess (hypothesis)I would say that this rock like substance could definitely be some sort of geopolymer. Can somebody say field trip!

  • I wonder if they would let any mayor university and lab studied to see if we can us it in air craft or ships like you suggested? I wander if the material is stronger than steel do they still have the knoweledge to build something like these?
