"A movie?" I asked in a dull tone.

"Yeah, ever heard of one?" Steph teased me, still holding hands with Nick.

"But it's so boring." I said as we stepped in line to get our tickets.

"Hey, it was Nick's idea." she said.

"Oh really, that's how it's gonna be?" Nick said back to her, getting close to her face and then tickeling her. Joe stepped next to me and leaned in close.

"He's always been so shy, I don't know what happened to him." he whispered. I was expecting him to back away after he said it, but when I turned my head to face him we were looking at each other, only inches apart. Much to his suprise, I didn't let it phase me.

"Steph happened to him." I replied. He smiled and then pulled away.

"It is kind of boring, going to the movies. I can never sit still for over a couple hours." he added.

"Well then, let's sneak out." I said, showing my dangerous side. Joe pointed to Nick and Steph who were standing closely and hands in the front of the line.

"You think they'll notice?" he asked. I got close to his face and softly said, "I don't think it'll be a problem." Joe grabbed my hand and pulled me behind a counter. We crouched down and started making our way to the door. Once we reached it, we took one look back and saw Nick and Steph looking around for us, and then they spotted us by the door.

"Run!" yelled Joe. I instantly shot into action and started sprinting outside. Joe caught up and we contined running and then he looked over his shoulder and said, "They're not even chasing us!"

"So we're doing this for nothing!?" I yelled back to him.

"Basically, but it's kind of fun!" he yelled. I slowed down and then came to a stop near a brick wall. I leaned on it and began laughing while Joe leaned his back on the wall next to me and then slid down it and sat, also laughing. I slid down the wall next to him and continued laughing.

"So now what?" I asked after I caught my breath and stopped laughing. Joe shrugged his shoulders and looked at me.

"I don't even know." he said with a smile, and I laughed again. He stood up and reached his hand out to help me up, and I took it and stood up. I put my hand by my side, but Joe didn't let it go. On the inside I was overcome with butterflies, but on the outside I kept my composure.

"How have you been?" he asked. I considered many different answers to the question, but I figured I should just be honest with him.

"Confused, but I think I found a good solution." I said, but before we could go further into it I changed the subject. "How've you been?"

"Pretty good, but I've basically been doing nothing. When Kevin's not talking to that girl he's either eating or telling me and Nick to practice." he said.

"Lisa?" I said, reffering to the girl Kevin's been talking to. Joe nodded his head and smiled.

"You have a good memory." he said, and I smiled.

"So I've been told.." I said, teasing him a little bit. "How's that going, the whole 'I'm gonna be famous one day thing'?" I asked.

"You mean the band?" he asked, but didn't give me time to answer. "Well like I said I've been doing nothing, so it gave me some time to practice. We have a gig tonight, too. You wanna come?"

"We'll see." I said with a straight face, and then turned to him and smiled. He smiled back and then looked ahead, and so did I.

"I've even had enough time to write a pretty good song, too." he added.

"Really? Sing it for me.." I said, not thinking he would. I was just teasing him, but Joe got a serious look on his face.

"You really want me to?" he asked, and I nodded. "Okay.." he said, and then began singing.

"She's an underdog, lives next door to me. She's always heard you won't amount to anything. And it kills me to watch the agony beyond her eyes. Tragic, the way people pass her by, but now I realize that everyone sees her but nobody knows that she screams in her pillow for a better tomorrow. She hates it, but she takes it. Watch out for that girl, one day she may change the world."

He had the voice of an angel, and in no way am I exaggerating when I say that. It was perfect, and as he sang I looked up at him. The lyrics sank in and I realized what the song was about, or more specific, who the song was about. It was about me.
