Yes it was. The Group B version was based on the Group 4 car but had the larger 13B. First appearance of the Mazda RX7 Group B was in 1984 Acropolis where Ingvar Carlsson came 9th overall. Reference page 372 of Reinhard Klein's great book (and now hard to find) 'Rally Cars' for the info.
