Here is part 1 of me jamming away on my electric piano. For anyone interested it's a Yamaha P-80 and the sound for this video was recorded directly into my Korg D1200mkII and then imported to iMovie.

Thanks for watching, part 2 will be up shortly!

All of the progressions seen in the video are original, and I have had a little practice with these before but nothing is written.

  • C Ionian, basically don't really know any chords yet then?

Shame, because you've got loads of feel for the piano.... just know background theory to work from.

Playing all the white notes is lazy pazy man.

  • Heh, I know a little more theory than just basic chord progressions, although Piano isn't my most played instrument, I am an E. bassist, so I am more used to laying down the background groove than playing melodic stuff.

I am working on some more complicated progressions now, its hard to come up with original stuff out of nowhere.

  • which yamaha is this?

  • P-80, I can't get the "grand" sound that my real grand has (next video will probably use it), but it's still fun for the sake of jamming.

  • Good music if you have to go on a long walk.

  • Yeah, my friends like me to play it when its really late at night and we're just hanging around doing nothing.
