  • YT won't let me post a link, but if you type in "freedom fertiliser" the top google search is a link to the proposed creation of ammonia from stranded wind (wind turbines in remote locations). this really would be something if it could be achieved.

  • @hume1234561

Freedom fertilizzer is a paralized initiative. The oil companies got to it.

  • Producing ammonia is the key problem with this technology. it still requires the haber-bosch technique to create massive amounts of it and that is done through burning coal. if this can be achieved using renewables and in sufficient quantitie, then all systems go!

  • @hume1234561

It can and it was originaly done using hydro in Norway, so with renwables in massive amounts.. The process of ammonia means making hydrogen (solar) and Nitrogen (also solar cooling) and putting them together with a nickel cathalyst. Gas and Coal ammonia came later under pressure from the gas and coal sellers.

  • Can ammonia be made in quantity and cheaply enough to be a viable fuel source?

Thanks for sending me off on yet another research tangent.

And thanks for another thought provoking video.

  • Farms are producing so much they need to pay to get rid of it..

  • do you know what would happen if i ran the NH3 through a gutted fuel filter filled with 1/4" magnetized stainless steel ball bearings? would there be any change to help aid in combustion?

  • You certainly nailed it. as you analogy of suppression!

    Rite on!

  • It isn't in oil companies interest to prevent alternative fuels being developed because they know that when gas prices go up people drive less. When they go up really high, people stop driving and if they ain't driving they're not buying new cars either. That's why the big petro-chemical companies are investing huge amounts in alternative fuels. NH3 does sound like a viable fuel though. But imagine the smell at the pumps!

  • Wake up NH3 can replace oil and eliminat the associated trade and power structure.

youtube ammonia car and listen at 2 minute 3 seconds

  • @eurogoldexchange why would the oil companies scupper this initiative. i don't buy that. you have western investor buying third world arable land for biofuel use. i believe everyone (anyone who matters that is) believes peak oil has come and gone and are looking to renewables.

with that said i would be very interested in companies like freedom fertiliser here in the UK or europe.

p.s. i don't advocate biofuels or the buying up of third world land to produce it.

  • Private companies too probably bury patents in their drawers, whether paid to do so by someone else, or their own greed and schedules is another thing to consider.

Maby there should be a new concept that if a patent isnt being used to its full potential for the good of society, due to greedy business practices, that they (gov?)can have "eminent domain" and? use/build upon such patents without lawsuits. Good idea, or bad idea? How about those aids drugs that are patented.
