This was a quick test to see the difference between a rigid body collision and a fracture collision. The planks use Fracture and will attempt to hold together until a certain force is applied to them.

It's the same principal as there... you only need the ball accelerating, but if you can basic 3ds animation that shouldn't be a problem:)
