is it faster this way? because im thinking of creating a low cost ssd for my ibook, i will put my 64gb sd into a sd to uata cradle and house it and out it in, but will it be just as fast as an original ssd?

so does this mean you could install a image onto a mac and have a basic image but could you already have a image with ilife and i work create a dmg and restore it to the sd card than boot the sd card and restore the hard drive with the sd card

@rickytrix We've got an even better option then this for our models!!!
Look up SSD ExpressCard in Macbookpro. There are articles about booting your computer and all your apps from the SSD card, increasing the speed at which everything loads. I apparently can't link you to it or I would. It is the equivalent of having an SSD and HDD combination setup, storing your files on the HDD and running your apps on the SSD.

PPC macs are iffy with USB booting but will boot from firewire.
In theory an IDE SD reader installed into a 1394 drive case could be used to boot a power mac I do know flash connected to the IDE bus works.
Adjust your audio levels!

A useful little vid - thank you! In the future, please balance the audio in your videos. The face-to-camera sections are the dramatically louder.
