Total Solar Eclipse 2008 in China (WeiZiXia by the Mongolian border)

This video shows a glimpse of how it feels to watch a total solar eclipse, for those who never have seen one. For initiated ones, this is just a great reminder of the experience.

The clip starts just over a minute before 2nd contact, when the clouds covering the sun for the last few minutes miraculously moved passed the sun, and it was then a fact that we will get a perfect view (which we already had given up at that point).

Notice the changing light pattern both on me at the front mostly driven by the sun, and the sky behind me being initially brighter and becoming darker at the end, as the totality shadow left us to the southeast.

The clip was recorded at the official Chinese watching site at WeiZiXia, in the centerline of the totality path, just northeast of XiWu.
