Syphen888@ fret not 4 negativity, you have understanding (which is intelligence) I'll explain to yu somting: there is a flower in a room. To me it's yellow , to you it's red, an to he it white. To come to agree that it is a flower is overstanding! Human being is made to have different feeling, different opinion, diferent view. This making make everybody special, even we don't understand. Bbfn!
I like your understanding/overstanding analogy. It made me recall a college coarse I enrolled in.
Also, it vaguely reminds me of a Chinese folk painting "Vinegar Tasters". While it focuses on differing points, it highlights how people experience things differently.
Currently, I'm reading "The T'ai Chi Boxing Chronicle" by Kou Lien-Ying and Guttmann. I was not particularly impressed by Guang Ping Taiji demonstrations, however reading the book has proven to be very insightful.
@Waxfiretape Thank you for the slam/compliment! lol I genuinely appreciate your courtesy. People so often get offended on here and lash out with nasty comments. I'm glad we can respectfully exchange perspectives.
I'm only a detailed person where it is prudent. In other cases I prefer to just go with the flow.
I think that's admirable that taiji has enabled you to reach a higher level of introspection. May your journeys continually yield blessings.
I recall everybody but a few Asians , laughing at a part of a movie( crouching tiger hidden dragon) when they r leaping n flying . People mind is not able to comprehend this power... Human being we are we r limited But the powers lay, I am finding in our mind! Our mind is the driving force of our body. This is only the begining'
This reminds me of my first taiji teacher, almost ten years ago now.
I never really knew much about him other than that he was a wealthy eccentric, who didn't have to work.
He trained taijiquan in china and eventually became a doctor of TCM.
He commented once on the "flying" you mentioned, in the same context. Out of character for how logical he was. He mentioned, "It's funny. Then you see it, it's not funny anymore."
I think it's still unlikely, but he believed. So who knows?
