According to the Declaration of Independence people have rights due to the fact that they are human beings, not because they are Americans. It says "All Men are endowed by their Creator with certain inalienable rights...", not "all Americans are endowed by their government..." I am not going to let the government be my conscience and decide who is my neighbor and who is not.
These kids can contribute to our nation if we will let them. We lose out when we throw their talents away.
