ShackTac - Quick & Dirty, Reversed

ShackTac playing a mission in reverse - landing at the objective in order to push to the start. The video creator is chKilroy, passenger on my Littlebird. As you can see, things got a bit hairy. Features an amazingly intense emergency helo maneuver partway into the vid, you'll know it when you see it.

Okay, this might have been the worst insertion ever, but damn did it make me smile.

@GenericAmerican1, 'worst insertion ever', what are you smoking? Putting a LB full of troops down safely in extremely heavy contact isn't what I would call a bad insertion by any means.

@Dslyecxi I meant 'bad' in the sense that it went south, unless you were planning the whole thing. First bird got lit up, I don't know what happened although I assume it landed safely. You dropped on roof, little bird was lost and you were wounded.

From what I can gather from the video (which isn't much) Is that you are now two birds down, have wounded and probable KIA, you separated from the team in the other bird, and taking heavy fire.

@GenericAmerican1, the intent of the mission, when done in reverse, is to go into a very bad spot - so, yes, that was the plan. The teams were not separated - by the time I got into the compound, the other team was there as well. The only helo lost was mine, and that wasn't a big deal - it wasn't going to do anything else in the mission anyway (usually I just come back and land in the compound later). IIRC the other helo landed and dismounted for the same reason (to fight).

Just out of curiosity, after reading through your guide and watching several videos I was wondering (aside from ACE 2 and the ShackTac Squad HUD) what addons do you use for ArmA 2/OA?

@SolexFox, it's mostly just island addons after those, plus a few misc minor ST mods we did for ourselves.

@Dslyecxi Landing directly on top of the objective O.o you guys really are bat-shit crazy. I suppose this was done for fun, and as long as this isn't s.o.p. for shacktack I can get behind stuff like this.

I hope I don't come across as looking too argue or nitpick with you, I just meant to say the insertion didn't really go as smoothly as it could have. But considering the commanders intent was to drop you in the worst place possible, this might have been the best possible outcome.
