I painted my regulator and rectifier black on my Royal Enfield Bullet 500 Classic Motorcycle a couple of years ago, and they work fine. I used really thin automotive touch-up paint to paint the Royal Enfield Bullet's regulator and rectifier black. I wondered if painting them would reduce the regulator and rectifier's ability to cool properly, but they work fine now that they're black. I wouldn't recommend using thick paint for the job. Go with as thin paint as you can find. They look a lot better black than silver if you have a solo seat on your Royal Enfield Bullet Motorcycle.

  • Nice idea. Cylinder black (v. thin) does a similar job.

  • @jemglen Thanks. I bet the Cylinder black paint would be tougher and more heat resistant than the stuff I used.

  • The coil was orginally behind the air box before you changes the carb? so was hidden, sounds like a good idea though, black is far cooler than stacks of chrome.

    Mine's all black :-D
