Aria, altpersisch Haraiva[ta], eine historische Landschaft in Zentralasien; entspricht der heutigen afghanischen Provinz Herat.
Nach der arabischen Eroberung Persiens gehörte die Region zum Kerngebiet der ostpersischen Provinz Khorassan. Seit 1848 gehört die Region zum Staatsgebiet Afghanistans. Das antike Volk der Aria wird heute u.a. zu den Vorfahren der heutigen Tadschiken gerechnet.
