I spotted two Southern Pacific SD40M-2's, one patched and one unpatched, paired with Union Pacific SD40-2's at Pepper Ave. overpass end of West Colton Yard.

  • When UP and SP merged, SP management assumed control of the new company, and took the Union Pacific name. They should have kept Southern Pacific instead.

  • Actualy, those SD40Ms were not rebuilt from SP units, they were originaly from several different railroads.
