forget modern alterative comedy(wtf is that all about) the look on ollies face when stan sings like the woman is pure comedy genius.any comedian setting out today should watch old laurel and hardy films and learn about comedy timing from the masters,who were also real gents.

how we laughed at thease duo me and my two children used to watch them over over and now iv bought the whole set of their dvds and the way out west clip is pure gold if im feeling down i put one of their dvds on and im on top of the world they are a tonic

Anyone who can make people laugh out loud three quarters of a century after their performance was filmed has got to be a class act. I never had much time for the other pre war comedians but Laurel and Hardy are amongst my all time favourites. Stan with his dopey looks and Ollie with his exasperated "what am I doing with this idiot?" expressions towards the camera are a perfect combination. Quality stands the test of time.
