My Mondeo ST24 was lacking power above 3500 RPM . It was all due to a faulty transistor in the IMRC (Inlet Manifold Runner Control) located under the Manifold cover. Easy to replace and at such a small cost! Many thanks to
MrMoss2001 ! :-)

  • Hi There, How did you find out the transistor was the only faulty component on the IMRC. Mine has a faulty IMRC but I wonder how did you tested it. Any help is appreciated. Mondeo 2004 V6 170 HP. Thanks, BTW Replacing the IMRC would run me $540 US Dlls. + labor.

  • @joryramos Hi. I was given the information by MrMoss2001. I also read about it online being a common fault as the transistor breaks down with heat and the IMRC is poorly positioned. I took the gamble of buying a new transistor at a small cost ,and fix it myself to see if it would cure the problem.

  • @joryramos I have also added a link to the video description to the website I got the information from. Hope this helps.

  • @madfiles7 Thank you so much! I'll give it a try and comment back. Transistor is only cents and a friend will help me with the soldering. I read now the forum and even a circuit diagram of the IMRC. This was a big mistake on Ford for placing the IMRC on a spot where there's so much heat.

  • You the man.....
