Hey everyone, as you can probably tell by now, this piano medley is a little different from the others. I thought I'd try venturing away from the piano and try one of the thousands of voices my keyboard comes with that I never use. I chose the steel guitar cause it sounded kinda cool and I always wished I could play the guitar! With the guitar setting, a few songs sounded better to me than they would on the piano, so I put 'em together. As you'll see, they're a mixture of a few different genres. I have a feeling people who like some of the songs will probably hate others. But I love em all. In order the songs are:

The Rainbow Connection from the Muppet Movie - gotta love Kermit
Nothing Else Matters - Metallica (how many times do you see kermit/metallica back to back?)
Pride (In the name of love) - U2
Tears in Heaven - Eric Clapton
True Colors - Cyndi Lauper
Forever Young - Rod Stewart
Solsbury Hill - Peter Gabriel
So Far Away - Carole King (um, yeah I dont know why I felt the need to do a pseudo guitar version of this, I just thought it sounded good)

Let me know what you think, and I hope you enjoy it!

PS - Sorry about the funky noises that happen every so often when I pound a little too hard!

  • dam good job pd.

the ending to "so far away" was great, classic.

never realised the muppet movie song had so much going for it.....nice job.

would love to see you do "black hole sun" as i think it would adapt to piano beautifully. maybe i should check your archives, it's probably there.

and you win the prize: the "making a rod stewart song listenable" prize.

how much time, on average, do you spend putting one of these medleys together?

  • Hahaha, thanks - I'd say I put in maybe around an hour a day of practice for about a week before I try recording it. Then recording the video/audio and uploading takes a few hours

  • Hey guys, glad most of you like the music. Yeah, the patch definitely sucks - I should have probably tested it out before posting. Watching it in high quality helps a lot - and if you download the mp3, you'll hear it how I hear it when I play - definitely a difference! Maybe I'll repost it as an actual piano medley later on...
