@Sueb91 I think he only called her Kathy three times: Here, when he first meets Friday, and very late in the game in 781, during the hostage crisis, when she returns from her tour and brings him breakfast at the hospital. You're right, though, Kathy just doesn't fit. She's our Katie : )

As for them trying out Kathy - it just doesn't work, but it happens a few times in the early episodes.

Kate: It goes up on the wall it doesnt take up space

Kate: I need to look at this when I take a break from practicing. It really sooth me
