Good informative video, I liked it. What I do with rice is freeze it for a week to kill any weevil eggs and then store it in glass mason jars. That won't make it last 10 years, but it will keep any rodents or bugs out of it. Plus if any bugs do hatch in the rice, the glass jar wiil keep them from spreading.

@Herbalpagan I got their eggs,they are great,and did find canned butter,which tastes better than the grocery stores.I wish I could find rainbow canned choc. milk.had that in belize,they don;t sell in the US.

Hello - Thank you for your videos. When you use your vaccum pack, do you still have to put any oxygen absorbers in - or is the vaccum pack, food product/original packaging enough by themselves enough to store it for longer than the original shelf life if it was to stay in its shop bought state? Thanks

The point of the vacuum seal is to remove oxygen, so you don't have to use the oxygen absorbers. I have found that sometimes the seal isn't perfect so you have to check your stored goods to make sure there is still a vacuum.

Should last a while, ketchup especially. I would be a little more wary of mayonnaise, as it could go rancid. Not a problem for me though, as I don't like it anyway so I'm not worried about keeping any around.

Peanut butter is also good to have on hand. Honey, Jam, dried fruits and nuts are also pretty important for their nutrition content.
I also store olive oil, salt and PEPPER (I love me some pepper) to keep me interested in mundane pantry items.
Those pouches of tuna you've got in video 1, they've got salmon, salmon fillets, and I also saw a chicken variation. Very handy in a pinch, especially w/o the use of tools.
If you can, alcohol is great to have handy.
Thoughts on pantry milk? (soy/rice)

yeah spices and seasonings are very important.
For my milk source I use powdered regular milk (not soy) stored long term in buckets with mylar bags and O2 absorbers, just like the rice, beans, or anything else.
