@ellimist6 Sacrificial atonement is inherent and ingrained in Jewish tradition. The Abrahamic God "Yahweh" accepted sacrifices of animals from the Jews - cattle, lamb and the likes.Yeshua called himself the sacrificial lamb wherein he himself became the sacrifice and so rituals, fast and hypocrasy of that sort came to be nullified and mere belief in that blood sacrifice coupled with repentance would suffice so as to cleanse sin.
@ellimist6 When I saw your comment that asked why jesus had to die for man's sins to be forgiven, I thought someone was actually asking out of curiosity and interest, so I thought I'd explain what I believed. I apologize for making you mad.
@JinxxiJukebox shut the fuck up you are stupid not quoting a god dam fucking book like it is fact. Why are religious people so fucking stupid I dont understand. Believe that some fucking jew died and came back to life bc you believe you are such a worthless piece of shit you need something to tell you they love you even if it is not a real thing.get a fucking life
@ellimist6 Romans 6:23 says, "For the wages of sin is death." God is completely perfect and just, so our sin separates us from him, and we deserve death. But God knew that as humans, we would sin. God's way of bridging this separation was to send his son to live a perfect life, and then sacrifice himself. Jesus was the only person that didn't deserve death, and he died for us. So it was a great sacrifice to take the penalty for us when he was the only one that didn't deserve that penalty.
God is so powerful, He can even make every one of them disappear in one snap, but why God and Christ let it happen?
I believe, Christ wanted to show us that we have to embrace God even in our deepest and painful moments... even in our last breathe. The only way to save our soul and live in eternal life.
God is invisible to human eye but this doesnt mean that He does not exist that is why He talked to man kind through His Word Jesus Christ in order to get to know Him and to know Him is the reason of our existance on earth other wise what is the benefit of being born then to die? animals are born then die. He said treat others the way you want them to treat you what strings in this? as for His sacrifice to us that is because He loves us soooooo much that He took our penalty of death instead.
@djgenfish I think you're only trying to look at it in a way that disproves His greatness. You have to realize that He didn't have to do what He did. He was NAILED to a cross and died a slow and painful death while receiving ridicule from the people He CHOSE to die for. He could have been King of Heavens, earth, the people, you name it even before He sacrificed His life for us- yet He chose to humble himself down with the people and died so we can receive salvation.
I never asked Jesus to sacrfice himself, so I feel no sense of obligation. Also, his "gift" isn't really a gift at all - it comes with strings attached. You have to submit, obey, give money to some church, etc. Anyway, I don't believe in your invisible god so it's a moot point.
@gupsphoo there is so much flaw to your logic. if you had ever even taken the time to study the bible you would know you arent paying for two people eating an apple.. that was the original sin, you have to pay for the sins you commit everyday... @djgenfish the sacrafice wasnt the pain or death, because you dont have a personal relationship christ you dont fully understand the weight of sin... it is god in the flesh a perfect being accepting the hurt and pain of the worlds sin that is sacrifice
I'm supposed to be forever responsible for a couple of people eating a fruit from a tree thousands of years ago, and God had to sacrifice himself to himself otherwise he couldn't forgive me for that.
How can any sane person believe in such outrageous BS?
