WRTV Analog Sign Off (6/12/2009)

At 8:00 AM June 12, 2009, after 60 years of analog broadcasting on channel 6, WRTV bid farewell to its analog signal and remains on digital channel 25.

The analog TV farewell of Central Indiana's ABC affiliate since 1979, which celebrated its 60th anniversary this year.

The clip begins with a sign-off announcement and a SSB video (which is not shown, and available at the JawToons site).

This clip was recorded "over the air" using an outdoor antenna and a VCR. A good sign-off clip, but nowhere near as great as that of WFYI 20's.

Very interesting- I love Indy TV history, having grown up with it since the late 60s. I wonder why the video was so low-res?
