L2E Part 2

This film is part of the Learning to Enquire series of booklets which follows the successful implementation of CARA. The programme involved around 240 schools across England and supported teachers and a
wide range of external partners to look at creativity in learning, for children, young people and adults. This film
follows two enquiries in detail. Participants were supported by CapeUK and a network of mentors, drawn mainly from Higher Education or the creative and cultural sector, who acted as 'critical friends' and guides in the Action Research process. Each partnership project (usually involving a teacher, a creative practitioner and their mentor) investigated some aspect of creativity in learning and looked at how the adult partnership and practice impacted on it. This was not just an 'academic exercise': people grappled with issues of learning and teaching that went to the heart of their own practice, the ethos and organisation of their schools and some of the central debates of recent and current educational policy. www.creative partnerships.com/cara By the end of the three year programme, in late 2007, we had a very rich bank of data at CapeUK - reports, films, photographs, surveys, analyses, interviews, notes and booklets, much of which is available from the CapeUK website. We felt that something significant about children's and adults' learning had come out of CARA, which added to Cape's knowledge and experience in the field and deserved to be shared with others. We hope that these booklets will be of interest, that you will use them in your work and share your thinking and 'learnings' with colleagues and the wider world.
