I resurrected my motorized, electronic toy gatling cap gun. My son wanted to use it for a Halloween prop but the battery compartment contacts had corroded. A quick trip to the electronic parts store, a drill, a dremel, a soldering iron and a cup of coffee later the toy is again a formidable piece of kiddo ordnance.

Just the thing to re-enact a favorite movie moment:

"The cops are here!"

"How many?"

"All of them, I think."

Additional: I this toy might have been originally sold as the 'Eliminator'. The orange disc magazine on the side holds a roll of strip caps that is automatically fed and fired as the gun turns. I didn't use that feature much due to the electronic sound effect being loud enough to drown out the cap noise. The trigger has two stages. First stage is sound effects only; Second stage activates the barrel motor and cap firing mechanism. There are six sound effects; the gun will continue one effect as long as the trigger is depressed. Releasing the trigger cycles to the next sound. The sounds are:
(1) Machine gun
(2) Machine gun + Explosion
(3) Fast machine gun
(4) Fast machine gun + Explosion
(5) Missle
(6) Missle + Explosion

A patent explanation of what appears to be this gun appears here:

  • where did you get this? please send link if you know

  • Best I can remember it's from the early to mid-1990's (1994 maybe?). I friend from college gave it to me as a birthday gift; but I remember seeing them in Kay-Bee toy stores.

  • Huzzah! Good for you. Don't forget to put him in Boy Scouts, too. Fire, Knives, Axes, Archery, Rifles, Shotguns, BB guns and healthy doses of Duty and Responsibility to go with it all. Heck, come on over here! [I hear you have to be 18 just to buy silverware over in jolly old England now - seriously.]
